    • Sorry for the late response Julie! Yes, you can skip the celery seed if you don’t like it or don’t have any on hand. It may change the flavor slightly, but the relish will still be delicious and definitely worth making.

  • 5 stars
Made this recipe and followed directions as given. I had 8 cups of cucumber, peppers, onion mix so I doubled the vinegar brine. It turned out excellent. Will definitely make again. It gave me 6 pints.

    • Hi Valerie, Thank you so much for your comment and sorry I’m so late replying! I really appreciate you coming back to share how it turned out. I actually do the same thing and often halve, double or triple this green relish recipe depending on what I have on hand, and it always works out well. Thanks again for making the recipe, and I’m so glad to hear you’ll be making it again.

    • Hi Susie! If you want to stick closer to the classic relish taste with a bit more sweetness, red bell peppers are the better choice. If you’re looking to add a mild heat and smoky flavor, I think poblano peppers would work nicely.
